The Old television concept's of the past prevented the dark images actually looking black as they had a white 'glow' effect. By using the LED technology the Black colours can be vivid increasing the overall contast and viewing experience.
For the YouTube advert from Samsung you can see the little digital humming bird doing its stuff... a great advert for a cracking piece of kit.

Which one to go for...
All have 4 HDMI slots, LED Edge backlight, and 1080p
(number 1080 is the definition, standard definition of older tv's have 575 (visible lines) these have 1080! with the 200/240hz compared to the 100/120hz models). I wouldn't worry about this difference in picture quality (unless... "you will always just really notice the difference!)
This Gadget performs fantastically and is one for the "can't burn your fingers/blow your mates away box!"
